Ottawa-area nursery has become the area’s only full-circle plastic pot recycling depot.

National Plastic Recycling Event will run from June 21 to July 1.

Nearly 100,000 lbs. of garden plastic was collected in the National Plastics Recycling Event held from June 22 to July 1.

In Ontario nearly 20 garden centres signed up for the project this year, adding to the national total of 50 participants from eight provinces accepting recycling plastics at their garden centres.

The 2012 National Plastics Recycling Event will run from June 22 to July 1.

The 2011 version of the National Plastics Recycling event saw over 76,000 pounds of material collected across Canada from June 25 to July 4.

In just its second year, some significant changes are coming to Canada’s national program to recycle horticultural plastic.

Thanks to the dedication of several CNLA and LO staff, and the commitment of many LO members, over 120 skids of plastic were collected during National Plastic Recycling Week.

Green industry companies are asked to bring their used plastic pots, tags and trays to Landscape Ontario’s home office for recycling, from June 28 to July 5.
