Ottawa Home and Garden Show 2016
Living Landscapes at the 2016 Ottawa Home and Garden Show
Living Landscapes, presented by Landscape Ontario in collaboration with the Ottawa Home & Garden Show, took place March 25-28 at the EY Centre in Ottawa.
Over two years in the making, the 30,000 square foot hall at the EY Centre featured 10 stimulating gardens, ranging in size and each with its own theme, inspiration and design. This collaborative effort involved the dedication and expertise of many members of both the Upper Canada and Ottawa Chapters of Landscape Ontario. All those involved deserve our recognition and thanks for so capably representing our industry.
In appreciation of and recognition for all the work that went into all 10 of the garden creations, visitors were asked to vote for the Living Landscapes 2016 People’s Choice Award for Best Garden Build. With votes tallied, first place went to Terrascapes Landscape & Design Inc.; second to Hansen Lawn and Gardens Ltd.; and third to Welwyn Wong Landscape Design. All voting visitors’ names were put in a draw and Thomas Kerr was the winner of the $500 Via Rail gift card, sponsored by Via Rail and the Canadian Tulip Festival.

- “Horticultural Industries Class of 2015” is part of a term project for a group of fourth semester landscape design students at Algonquin College.
- “You Deserve It” by Hansen Lawn and Gardens Ltd.
- “Garden of Serenity” by Welwyn Wong Landscape Design.
- “Spring in the Upper Valley” by Thunderbolt Contracting Ltd.
