| LO's Covid-19 Task Force hosts Emergency Meeting on Jan. 14 at 9 am Landscape Ontario is holding an emergency meeting Jan. 14 at 9 am to answer questions regarding the Provincial Government's Stay-at-Home Order. The meeting will be hosted by the LO Covid-19 Task Force at Landscape Ontario's Congress Connect Booth. If you haven't signed up for Congress Connect yet, please do so now. Access to the marketplace is free and it's open all year. To join the meeting, simply navigate to LO's Booth tomorrow morning and click the meeting link. We hope to see you there. | New resources added to LO's Covid-19 Hub Landscape Ontario continues to update its Covid-19 Resource Hub with the latest news and information. Visit the Hub to see how the Stay-at-Home Order impacts landscape and horticulture businesses, and find a letter template you can provide employees who are on the job or travelling to or from work. Landscape Ontario will continue to update the Hub as addtional information becomes available from the government. Get FLP Certified this winter The Fusion Landscape Professional (FLP) program provides designers and contractors with the tools and knowledge to promote and provide landscapes that utilize lot level stormwater management and enhance the environment. LO was hopeful to offer these sessions, even with small numbers due to their importance. Individuals who had registered will be contacted. Register online. OPA accepting 2021 award nominations Nominations for the annual Ontario Parks Association 2021 Protecting Tomorrow Today Awards will be accepted until Jan. 31, 2021. The awards recognize individuals, groups or companies who show a passion for our parks, open spaces, and/or environment. For categories and a nomination form visit the OPA website. Reminder: LO does not sell Congress lists Each year, we see and hear about fraudulent emails being sent out to the landscape community offering access to lists of Congress attendees. Landscape Ontario does not sell the Congress lists, and any company or individual offering such a list is a scam. LO is hiring Technical Training Instructors Landscape Ontario is hiring part time and full time Technical Training Instructors to support the delivery of a new entrant landscape horticultural training and employment program that launched in September 2020 and will continue during the winter of 2021 across three regions (Hamilton, Muskoka/Kawartha regions). Ontario Labour Market Program Survey The purpose of this survey is to gather valuable data related to landscape and horticultural business operations in order to help inform the upcoming Labour Market Information report. This data will identify the top in demand jobs in the industry, as well as influence tools and best practices to better attract, recruit and retain workers. Take the survey. Order safety materials for trucks and equipment Order up to 10 "Don't let your guard down" decals at no cost. Simply email Meghan Greaves or call 1-800-265-5656, ext. 2301. Bundles of 100 decals can be ordered at cost for $32.25 per 100. The decals measure eight by 2-1/2 inches. The LO Covid-19 Task Force encourages members to place as many as possible on equipment and trucks. Posters promoting safety and featuring basic action points have also been developed, and are posted for free download. Versions in English, Spanish and French are available, as well as artwork to paste into email signatures. |
