Technician - New Entrant Program (Milton)
Landscape Ontario is hiring two qualified part-time, Program Technician(s) Contractor(s) to undertake the setup of the practical learning component of the GROW Training Program and provide additional Health and Safety, and technical oversight of the participants of the GROW program during practical classes from December 2020 - March 2021. The Program Technician(s) will be retained on a short-term contract to support the preparation, set up and final clean up to support the 11-week training program. This position will support the practical classroom set up that requires equipment operation and material organization to maximize learning in the technical practical training sessions. Program Technicians will have industry experience, will operate equipment, know and recognize materials used in the trade, and set up all materials and equipment in advance of each technical training class. Program Technicians will also provide additional Health & Safety supervision during all practical classes, to support the health and safety of all and to create a positive learning experience.Term: December 2020 to March 2021

Regional Technical Training Instructors - New Entrant Program
Landscape Ontario is hiring qualified Technical Training Instructors to support the delivery of a new entrant training and employment program that launched in September 2020 and will continue during the winter of 2021 across 3 regions (Hamilton, Muskoka/Kawartha regions). The Regional Technical Training Instructors are key positions in the launching and delivery of a new technical training program that will recruit and train Ontarians who have experienced difficulty in the labour market in three regions. The training program will prepare selected participants with basic knowledge and applied skills to successfully enter the industry in targeted entry level positions. These positions will contribute to a team that is responsible for creating, developing and delivering the curriculum based on the workforce needs of the industry in each region and the learning needs of targeted participants. The curriculum will be designed to deliver a combined 4-week applied technical and employment training program that provides the required entry level knowledge, applied skills and expectations for new entrant workers to be successful in the landscape and horticulture industry. As part of this role, the instructors in collaboration with the Industry Partnership Engagement Specialist (IPES), will maintain relationships with industry employers, identify clear learning objectives (including cognitive, experiential, social and emotional learning) and develop pre and post technical learning assessments so that participants’ meet minimum skills requirements. All instructors will be responsible for the technical training, feedback and coaching of training participants.Term: Part-time/ full-time contract position ending March 31, 2021

Industry Partnership Engagement Coordinator - Employers of Choice
The Partnership Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for leading partner and stakeholder engagement with LO’s 2,600 business members to inform the development of three new programs that include a new entrant worker recruitment and development program, a new training and skill development program for current workers, and a developmental program to support Employers in the landscape and horticulture industry. Candidates should possess a minimum of two years experience working in business operations, sales or HR capacity, very strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, professional written, verbal, presentation and facilitation skills, proficient computer skills, valid drivers' license, ability to travel. This is a full-time, contract position ending March 31, 2021 with possibility of extension.Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until November 11, 2020
