Concrete Paver Installer Course
The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) is able to offer an online Concrete Paver Installer course, to secondary and post-secondary educators this year. The course would strengthen professional knowledge around paver instillation, provide educators with ICPI teaching resources and provide an opportunity for educators and their students to acquire their Concrete Paver Installer (CPI) certification.

The online Concrete Paver Installer course contains approximately 12 hours of pre-recorded content that can be completed online at your own pace.
Course topics will include: System Components, Safety Job Planning and Documentation, Job Layout, Planning and Material Flow, Soil Characteristics and Compaction, Base Materials, Edge Restraints, Bedding and Joint Sand, Selection and Installation of Concrete Pavers, Maintenance and Management and Construction Tips.
​After completing the online content an ICPI instructor will provide a 2-hour Zoom call specifically for educator participants, to answer questions and provide tips on how to teach the Concrete Paver Installer course to your class. To complete the course and become certified to teach the ICPI Concrete Paver Installer course, participants will need to schedule a time to take the exam virtually using ProctorU (this process requires access to a webcam).
After successful completion of the course, educator participants will be provided with resources to teach the Concrete Paver Installer course to high school or post-secondary students online or in person. Resources include PowerPoints, videos, online modules and sample tests. Educators, and students of educators who pass the exam are eligible to acquire their full Concrete Paver Installer (CPI) certification after they complete the practical requirements (install 10,000 sq feet of pavers over 5 job sites) and pay the ICPI membership fee.
The online Concrete Paver Installer course would be available to secondary and post-secondary educators at no cost. As this program is offered online, participation dates are flexible however must be completed before June 2021.
