Be a part of the phase 3 build at St Matthews house in Hamilton
The Green Cities Foundation is excited to continue to work this year on the Barton Village green space renovation project. We need local partners like you to complete this project and make a difference to the community in 2022.

The week of June 6-11, 2022 we are looking for labour, including equipment (excavator, loader, compactor, auger).
June 6-10: Complete children’s playground (woodwork, pavers, planting).
June 11: Community Day (planting, clean-up, mulching)

Peter Guinane, Project Manager, has also put together a list of materials we are looking for to complete the project this year. Major items include:
 
  1. Services and drains: Catch basin, drain pipe, sleeves for services.
  2. Grading and sandbox materials: Filter fabric, crushed gravel, play sand, tarp cover.
  3. Fencing, arbour, pergola, gates and sandbox: 6x6 PT posts, 4x4 PT posts, 2x4 PT posts, 1x6 cedar, sono tube, concrete.
  4. Precast pavers and sensory pathways: Pave edge, HPB - fine grading, pavers, polymeric joining sand, step stones.
  5. Log bench and steps: Stumps/logs.
  6. Play mulch surfaces: Landscape fabric, fibar play mulch.
  7. Planting: Soil, Myke (or other).
  8. Irrigation: Irrigation controller, rain sensor, pipe, heads, electrical outlet, hose bib.

FINANCIAL DONATIONS
Phase 4 will include the parking lot and front area landscaping, with an aim to complete the project in October, 2022.
