Waterloo Chapter - HR Guest Speaker

Finally, your HR questions answered!

Join the Waterloo Chapter back at the Royal Canadian Polish Legion for an educational night with Melissa Murray, CHRP from H2R Business Solutions and Ashley Brown from Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP.

Melissa will be discussing the financial costs to employers on topics such as employee burnout, mental health and conflict resolution in the workplace and how to improve it.

Ashley will be discussing managing Mental Health issues on the rise in the workplace.

This interactive and informative session is designed to provide employers with the tools needed to confidently assess and respond to mental health accommodation requests. In this session we will discuss:
  • Stress and Anxiety: When do these symptoms trigger the duty to accommodate (and when do they not)?
  • Medical Documentation: What strategies can be used to get useful and detailed medical information?
  • Accommodation: What processes and forms of accommodation are appropriate for mental disabilities?
  • Leaves of Absence: When is an employer justified placing an employee on a leave of absence?
  • Enough is Enough: When are the doctrines of “undue hardship” and “frustration” engaged?
