Spotted lanternfly
Spotted lanternfly (SLF) is an invasive sap-feeding planthopper with the potential to harm agriculture and forestry in Ontario. If you see a suspected SLF in Ontario, take pictures, collect a sample, and REPORT IT immediately to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
There have, however been numerous sightings and interceptions of the pest in Ontario and Canada, details of which can be found here.
Currently, SLF can be found in 18 U.S. states. A map showing its current distribution and quarantine areas can be found here.
