Chipco Professional Products, division of Aventis CropScience in Canada, will make headway in the professional lawn care market with the recent hiring of Darcy Olds.

     Olds, formerly national technical manager for Turf Management Systems, a parent of Weed Man, joins Chipco as its territory sales manager, with efforts centred on Chipco’s Ontario business as well as on municipal affairs. Responsibilities will see Olds provide sales and technical support to customers in the lawn care and ornamental sectors, with such products as Chipco Sevin XLR Plus and new products currently under regulatory review.

     “As a company, we are investing in new products to service the needs of the lawn care and orna­mental industries,” says William MacMurdo, manager for the Chipco Professional Products Division of Aventis CropScience in Canada. “With Darcy on board, we will be better able to service our customer needs in these industries.”

     Olds will also bring enthusiasm in stewardship initiatives, with his involvement on the Integrated Pest Management Advisory Committee for Landscape Ontario (LO), as member of LO’s Lawn Care Commodity Group and past chair of the Professional Lawn Care Association of Ontario Education Committee. “Supporting industry stewardship initiatives is a critical part of our role as a leading manufacturer and supplier of plant protection products in this industry,” says MacMurdo, noting that Olds continued affiliation with such initiatives will further Chipco’s own stewardship efforts.
