New horticultural CD reference designed for professionals

Horticopia Inc. recently announced the national release of their newest CD reference, Horticopia® Professional, the seventh volume of its award-winning software.

With 21,000 high quality, full colour photos and data for 8700 ornamental plants, the Professional is the most comprehensive horticultural CD-ROM reference available to the green industry.

Garden Workbench®, a trademark of Horticopia, allows users to select plants by common and botanical names or by one of over 200 attributes such as hardiness, height, bloom time or growth rate. New features of the Garden Workbench include an integrated woody and herbaceous library, a favourites menu, botanical name synonyms and easy-to-use toolbars. Professional users can now preview and print plant lists, information sheets, picture sheets or design a custom print document for landscape proposals or garden centre signage. Additionally, electronic documents in Adobe Acrobat® format can be created for e-mail.

“Horticopia Professional will be the cornerstone for a new genre of products,” says Anne Muecke, president of Horticopia Inc. “This year, we will be integrating more plant libraries, a new series of expert notes and software for garden centre signage.”
