Markham offers information session on upcoming pesticide bylaw
Anyone who provides lawn care in Markham should attend an information session on March 20.
As of April 1, 2008, everyone who provides lawn care in Markham, including product suppliers, pesticide and organic/pesticide-free applicators must be licensed to operate in the town. Markham defines licensed as “full accreditation in a recognized integrated pest management program from IPM-PCH Council of Ontario, or equivalent.”
The information session on the bylaw and how to acquire the new license starts at 2:00 p.m., on March 20 at the Markham Civic Centre, 101 Town Centre Blvd, at the corner of Highway 7 and Warden Ave. To register, or for more information, contact the town’s bylaw enforcement department at (905) 477-5530.
