Lawn care niche market

Re: "Do we need pesticides in lawn care" article, published in the April issue of Landscape Trades.

Thank you. It is so nice to see my trade association talking and writing about whether or not pesticide use is needed in our trade. I started full-time this year on a non-chemical lawn care system for my customers. The response is generally very good (from the customer), unfortunately many in the trade do bad-mouth the situation.

My market is the upscale homeowner in the Hamilton area, and most of these people have a great concern about pesticide use (with regards to pets and children, as well as themselves). Yes, I admit, it does take more work on our part to take care of the property without pesticides, but I strongly believe that there is a bright future ahead.
