Jen will discuss some of the top tree health issues and new resources that you can use to improve your customer service visits (i.e. make you look smart in 
front of your clients).

LECTURE: The Importance of Inventory Management and Mapping In 
Relation to Maintenance
We will look at the history and tools used in the process of inventorying trees
and plants. A real situation case study of the process of implementing a system for a 200 acre site with some of the associated challenges. The resultant data will be analyzed and the importance for maintenance will be discussed.

LECTURE: New Plants and 2016 Trial Garden Results
The performance of new annuals and perennials from the 2016 trial season will
be discussed in this presentation. Emphasis will be given to:
 
  • The trial garden favourites as chosen by trial visitors and trial judges alike.
  • Unique and unusual plant entries.
  • Low maintenance and disease tolerance qualities of the trial entries
  • And general ornamental value to the end user.

Rodger Tschanz - University of Guelph
Rodger Tschanz has worked in the field of horticulture at the University of Guelph since graduating in 1989. He is currently a research technician with the Department of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph. Read more...
