John Deere sells landscape segment interest
Deere and Company in the U.S. has sold a majority interest in its landscape business to the private equity investment firm of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC.
John Deere Landscapes is still part of Deere’s agriculture and turf segment. As a result of the transaction, Deere will retain a 40 per cent equity interest in the business, and continue to increase its focus on agriculture, construction, turf and forestry equipment.
Deere formed the landscapes business in 2001. John Deere Landscapes is one of the largest North American wholesale suppliers of turf and ornamental agronomics, irrigation, outdoor lighting, nursery and landscape materials.
