Policies and Procedure Manual

WHY?

The policies and procedures within the manual give direction to your management team to effectively manage your people resources.

WHO?

The Policies and Procedures Manual gives in-depth processes for owners, managers, supervisors and lead heads to oversee the daily work of employees.

HOW?

The policies and procedures have been developed as templates. Use the Manual as a framework and add relevant information for your business.

OR

If you don’t have a Policies and Procedures Manual:
  • LO's Policies and Procedures Manual was designed for you.

Organizing the Policies and Procedures Manual

The Policies and Procedures Manual is divided into three parts:
Part I: Legislatively Required Policies and Procedures
Part II: General Organizational Policies and Procedures
Part III: Policies and Procedures for Employee Management

Once you have downloaded the relevant policies and procedures, add the following:

  1. Each of the policies has a number. The first policy in Part I: Legislatively Required Policies and Procedures would start with number Policy 1.1; the first Policy in Part II: General Organizational Policies and Procedures would start with number Policy 2.1; and the first policy for Part III: Policies and Procedures for Employee Management would start with number 3.1.
  2. Add a ‘footer’ with your company logo (if desired), date and page numbers. Once the pages are numbered the ‘Table of Contents’ can be updated.
  3. Your logo will need to be added to the template forms in the ‘Appendices.’
  4. When there is a parenthesis {  }:
    1. Company specific information will need to be added.
    2. Additional information is provided to support implementing the policies and procedure.
