Founder of Aldershot Landscape Contractors dies

Industry pioneer Joe DeLuca passed away on Saturday July 7, 2007. DeLuca was the founder and chairman of Aldershot Landscape Contractors Limited. He started the company in 1952 with a one-ton truck and a tractor and built it to the thriving, multi-facted business it is today.

While he had handed over the day-to-day running of Aldershot Landscape Contractors to his son, DeLuca took an active interest in the company’s activities and could often be seen driving around in his white truck inspecting job sites.

DeLuca is survived by his second wife Jean (pictured) and predeceased by his wife Audrey, the mother of his children, Bill, Linda Cupido, Sandra Poloniato, Cathy Gaye. He was stepfather to Elaine Davey and Fraser Donnell.

Visitation is at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington on July 10 and 11 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church on July 12 at 10:30 a.m. followed by internmet at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
