“Field Notes” CD available

American Nurseryman’s popular column “Field Notes” is now available in CD format.

Reproduced verbatim from the archives of past Field Notes columns (with few exceptions), the CD format follows the magazine’s format and focuses on individual plants deemed worthy of greater recognition in the horticulture industry. Written by industry professionals with extensive, firsthand experience with the featured plant, each Field Notes selection is written in a personal narrative format and provides insider tips on cultivation, propagation and landscape use. Some have been revised to provide missing or updated information, such as USDA hardiness zones or plant size at maturity.

Plants are listed in alphabetical order by botanical name, as well as indexed by common name. Users can access a graphic image of the Field Notes article as it appeared in the magazine, and a zoom-in tool allows the user to read the column on-screen or print the page in detail. The CD includes a free copy of Adobe® Acrobat® ReaderTM.

The Field Notes CD can run on either PC or Macintosh platform. PC-compatible machines require a 486 processor or greater, Windows® 95, 98 or Windows® NT with Service Pack 3 or later; 16MB of available RAM and 10MB of available hard-disk space. Macintosh users need an Apple Power Macintosh or compatible computer, Mac OS software version 7.1.2 or later, 4.5MB of available RAM and 8MB of available hard-disk space.

This CD is priced at $34.95 U.S. (plus $5.50 shipping and handling), and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. For information, please contact American Nurseryman at (312) 782-5505 or fax (312) 782-3232.
