Fanshawe Landscape Design Program review meeting

As part of its ongoing academic quality review process, the Landscape Design program at Fanshawe College is reaching out to its community partners to recruit industry professionals interested in being a part of the External Focus Group (EFG). A program review is held every 5-6 years to set the goals and direction for the program going forward. By being part of this committee you would have the opportunity to help update the existing Landscape Design program in order to ensure the program meets both the college Board of Governors requirements and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) Program Quality Assurance Process Audit (PQAPA). However, the most important part is that you as a potential employer of our students, either co-op or graduates, can have real input into ensuring that the skills our students gain while in the program meet the needs of employers. If you are an existing or former co-op employer of our students I would like to invite you to participate in this process as you will have first hand experience with the level of skills that our students have at the end of first and second year. This will make your participation and observations valuable as we plan our goals and it is an opportunity to change or finesse the focus of our courses to better meet the current and emerging needs of employers and our students. If you have hired our graduates then your input would be valuable as well. If you are willing to consider participating in this review process please email Shelley Stephenson (contact information below) to be added to the list. You will then receive some additional information about the process. Fanshawe will be holding this Program Review meeting on October 26, 2016 at the Landscape Ontario head office in Milton from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Dinner for participants will be provided.
