Robert Adams
LO President

tom intven Every road has bumps and obstacles along its path. Part of the road I have travelled has been somewhat bumpy, but I have survived the journey and would now like to express my appreciation to everyone who believes in me. Thank you for your support. It is a huge honour and privilege to serve you, the members, and to represent you as your new president.

There is no ‘I’ in team, but ‘I’ am very happy to be a part of the LO team. Landscape Ontario is a great association and every member has the right to have a say about how we promote it. More important though, members have an obligation to put their best foot forward and promote Landscape Ontario every chance they get. I would like to encourage anyone who is interested in getting involved, please do so. There are many committees and groups to choose from. Please drop me a line and we can discuss your interests and concerns.

It is time to educate and celebrate. Educate, educate, educate. There are so many opportunities available this winter, that I don’t know where to start. It seems we have a course for almost every interest. I encourage our members to consider attending one or more of the courses being offered. If there is a topic that has been missed, please let us know.

Recently, Congress was awarded the Top 50 Award again. This award is given out to the top 50 trade shows in North America for continuous strength in their respective markets. Brian Cocks traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to accept the award on behalf of Landscape Ontario. This is just one of the many things that we are able to celebrate. Others include, meeting new people at chapter meetings, the annual tailgate party, friends who are also competitors, and simply being alive. This is just a short list of things that we need to celebrate.

Every day has new opportunities, but we need to stop and appreciate the beauty of our accomplishments. The work that we do, day in and day out helps to make the world we live in a better place. It may range from cutting turf to installing a massive garden and everything between. All of the work that we perform is a step towards a more beautiful community. For that, we should all be proud. Let’s build on our successes for a greener tomorrow.

Quote of the month: “Let each become all that he was created capable of being.” Thomas Carlyle.
