Part 1: Commercial vehicle safety
James (Jim) Slykhuis is a retired Police Sergeant. He now runs J. Slykhuis Consulting. Jim spent 32 years working with York Regional Police, the final 12 years as the officer in charge of the Commercial Motor Vehicles Unit. Read more about Jim here. Jim will be discussing various aspects of commercial vehicle enforcement including load securement, daily inspections, hours of service etc.
Part 2: Developing your business
Jacki Hart, Manager of the Prosperity Partners Program. Jacki will engage business owners 'peer to peer style' using a round table discussion and think tank session format to discuss recruiting and engaging millennial's, current trends and sharing ideals for mutual success.
Jacki Hart brings her experience as a successful 25 year contractor and founder of multiple Award-Winning Waters Edge Landscaping, which she successfully sold with excellent ROI. She has been an active industry advocate and educator with many years serving as Director and Executive on several Provincial and Trade Association boards.She developed and manages the Peer2Peer Network and business training programs for Landscape Ontario and continues into her 12th year writing monthly business columns for our Industry. Jacki is a highly skilled mentor, coach and strategic thinker.
