Changes ahead for Koln Messe shows

Exhibitors at the International Trade Fair for Design, Equipping and Care of Amenity Areas (areal) will have to look elsewhere for representation in the trade with the recent cancellation of the areal show for 2001.

Previously billed as part of the Triple Event, areal and the product sectors it represents will be incorporated into the two existing Koln Messe trade shows - the fsb, the International Trade Fair for Leisure, Sports and Pool Facilities and GAFA Koln, the International Garden Trade Fair. With this change, Koln Messe hopes to resolve a conflict of objectives between the planning-designing and craftsman-oriented range and the various needs of the respective target groups.

Held September 3 to 5, GAFA Koln caters to the horticulture and landscape gardening sectors, including equipment, appliances and vehicles for the care of amenity areas. The fsb is held November 7 to 9, and is geared to the planners and designers of outdoor facilities and open spaces, including urban planners, architects and engineers, retailers, investors from municipalities and construction companies.
