APLD holds summer conference
The Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) will bring the APLD Summer 2001 Conference to Louisville, Kentucky, following the theme “Designing with Style — Harmonizing Landscape Design to Architectural Styles.”
Held July 26 to 28, the conference will be housed at the elegantly restored 1905 Seelbach Hotel, aptly chosen for this conference on the harmonization of the indoor and outdoor styles. The speaker bureau will include visits from Fred Spicer on “Integrating architecture with landscape design,” Greg Pierceall on designing landscapes around huge tear-down homes situated on small lots, and Charles Cresson, owner of Hedgleigh Spring will share the history of this 100-year-old garden. Also included in the conference will be tours of the city’s newly restored Riverfront area and numerous private gardens.
