Joe SalemiLandscape Ontario’s membership team put in a tremendous effort this year working with Chapters and Sector Groups to drive membership engagement across the board. The team worked to support all of Landscape Ontario’s Chapters and Sector Groups as they began to plan for both in-person and virtual events.

Much of the later part of 2021 was filled with too much uncertainty to get underway with planning in-person meetings and events. We focused much of our efforts on bolstering our member data system to streamline internal processes for new members and renewing existing membership.

As COVID-19 related restrictions eased, both Chapters and Sector Groups kicked into gear with planning their events for the remainder of the year. This included chapter meetings, social networking events, golf tournaments, conferences, and more.

Membership growth continues to be strong. We attribute this growth to our continued partnership with the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association and the great value through federal advocacy and the discount programs they offer (GM truck discounts, specialized insurance, etc). Over this past fiscal year, Landscape Ontario members saved over $9 million! We continue to see new members as a result of the tremendous work done by the COVID-19 Task Force. Many companies who were not members were also provided with all of the resources produced through this task force, and as a result are now joining because they see the true value in Landscape Ontario.
