| Youth and new Canadians are our future A recent visit with the guidance counsellor at my daughter's high school really hit home in regards to the serious marketing issue we have when it comes to the many career paths within our profession. I was informed that, “Students think horticulture is for Blue Hair people.” Thankfully, Landscape Ontario's newly-revised Strategic Plan will help guide us to implement strategies to attract youth and new Canadians to our profession. We offer the chance to work outdoors, enhance communities and lives, and work alongside others. We all need to work and do our part in order to change the misperceptions of others. |
