This is your chance to interact with experts and explore the many career opportunities in horticulture and turfgrass.

High school students and teachers are invited to the University of Guelph to explore plant identification, physiology, and management at the facilities of the Guelph Turfgrass Institute. This day-long event is well suited for the priorities and requirements of horticulture and landscaping Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) and the green industries program.

Barbecue lunch provided.
 

Guest speakers:

Rob Heggie is the Head Grounds keeper at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Rob oversees all aspects of grounds maintenance for Toronto FC, Toronto Argo’s, BMO Field and the KIA Training Grounds.

Ben Cullen is a gardener extraordinaire. He works alongside gardening expert Mark Cullen to write weekly columns in the Toronto Star and make appearances on Global’s Morning Show and the Weather Network.
