Durham College opening is proud time for Chapter
Durham College celebrated the official opening of the Centre for Food on Oct. 17, marking the region’s first-ever post-secondary presence focused on field to fork.
The new facility accommodates approximately 900 students studying a variety of programs including Horticulture Technician, Food and Farming and Golf Facility Operations Management.
LO’s Durham Chapter has a strong tie to the college, having hosted supplier barbecues, assisted with its horticulture program and being actively involved in the creation of a special partnership with Parkwood National Historic Site (Parkwood). The unique partnership with Parkwood provides students the added benefit of studying and training at Parkwood’s renowned historic gardens and greenhouses in a living lab environment.
