Charter members built foundation of success for Landscape Ontario
The companies listed below believed in a collective vision when they founded Landscape Ontario in 1973. Their continued membership has helped build a strong foundation of success for LO.
Today, the association has over 2,400 members. Many of those members joined Landscape Ontario knowing it is the number one method to improve the industry in which they made a living.
Others simply are looking for a great discount on a vehicle.
None of those on our charter list would fall into the latter category. They know their association provides a visible level of professionalism. They also know it is a go-to resource when it comes to information relevant to their business.
That resource could be financial, safety, trade skills, government regulations, new products and much more. Many of these members have become involved in chapters, sector groups, special committees, or volunteered at the trade shows, or special events.
Current president of Landscape Ontario Dave Braun wrote about the dedication he has observed with members giving freely of their time for the good of the association. "From one end of the province to the other, there are busy business people who find the time, energy and money to ensure their association is a viable and important entity. It's amazing to see the level of commitment from LO members who give of themselves to community and association projects right across the province."
LO executive director Tony DiGiovanni echoes those thoughts, "Landscape Ontario is very fortunate to have many engaged and dedicated members committed to growing a prosperous, professional, ethical, valued and recognized industry."
A former LO president, Tom Intven, whose company Canadale Nurseries is a charter member, said, "The success of this organization is a direct result of highly motivated volunteers who serve on the boards, and the many committees and associated groups. I encourage all members to become involved – at any level or with any association activity. Engage yourself and you will feel more connected, fulfilled and rewarded."
